This magnificent, full-bodied wine is complex, with a nose which conveys an abundance of chocolate and blackcurrant with a hint of oriental spices. The palate is well-balanced with sweet fruit up front and soft mouth-filling tannins, which contribute great lengths to the rich flavors. A wonderful accompaniment to beef.

2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes picked from the oldest blocks in the vineyard, these 18 year old vines have produced a wine of intense color, flavor and aromas. The Merlot grape softens the tannins and adds good balance to the wine and exhibits an overall finish of refinement and richness to this full bodied wine. Our French Oak barrels make this an excellent wine to accompany any main course meal or a good cheese dish.

The Shiraz from these vines is light to medium bodied. Aromas and flavors are reminiscent of sweet red berry fruits, exotic spices, earth and vanilla. This collage of flavor is supported by a juicy acidity providing clarity and substance. Matured on French Oak, this Syrah style Shiraz is vibrant, fruit driven and well balanced.

The Shiraz highlights characters of cherries and rich chocolate on the palate, followed by a licorice and vanilla bean finish. This medium to full bodied wine shows an abundance of ripe fruit and soft tannins. A deep crimson color with purple hues signifies a good red wine. This wine shows good length and a clean finish.

A Shiraz of notable quality, 2002 exhibits licorice and vanilla bean characters. A medium to full bodied wine, the Shiraz grapes of 2002 were picked ripe with intense color, soft tannins and extreme flavors. Good length and a clean finish, the American Oak used to enhance the Shiraz makes it an ideal wine to serve with red meats or cheese dishes.

Tasting notes:
Blend of Cabernet Franc 74%, Cabernet Sauvignon 11% and Merlot 15%. The colour is dark red, dense showing youthful purple hues. The bouquet is fragrant exhibiting flavours of ripe blackberries and violets. Hints of raisin and biscuity Christmas cake characters revealing a good harvest of a great season. The palate is soft and round presenting a delicious flavour composition. The well-accomplished varietal integration has created a fine wine. Ripe dark fruits of the forest framed by a subtle, velvety tannin structure have created a fine example of a great assemblage indicative of the Margaret River wine region. 13.6% alc. 12 Month in French oak barrels.
