Merops Wines is a new and exciting producer of premium red wines. The vineyard was designed around the nesting area of the Merops Ornatus “Rainbow Bee Eater” to create a sanctuary for the birds to continue to nest there. Focusing on red varietals, Merops has achieved early critical acclaim for its wines. Their 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon won Best In Class at the 2007 Sydney Wine Show.
We are pleased to offer their delicious 2005 Ornatus red wine to the USA market. This classic Bordeaux style blend of Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot offers rich sweet fruit flavors and smooth tannins, giving it a lovely finish.
Merops vineyard is being certified by the NASAA (National Association of Sustainable Agriculture of Australia) for Organic Certification.
